Our Student Services Department provides programs and services for students residing in Avondale, ages birth to 26, who experience difficulty learning and/or have physical or other health needs.

The Student Services office provides support to the following departments:

English as a Second Language (ESL)
Enrollment
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
Special Education
Early Childhood  

Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, Martin Alwardt, is the district compliance officer. Mr. Alwardt ensures that Avondale is compliant with Federal and State regulations and that any inquiries or complaints are dealt with promptly and in accordance with the law. 

He is also responsible for ensuring that the proper notice of nondiscrimination 
 for Title II, Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation  Act of 1973 is provided to students, their parents, staff members and the 
general public.
