MEEMIC Risk Management Insurance Program

Insurance careers offer great earning potential and stability in a growing industry, as well as, a challenging and rewarding career path. This program allows you to explore the industry through a partnership with nationally recognized MEEMIC Insurance Company. Students enrolled in this program will spend three days per week in the classroom and two days per week (transportation provided) at MEEMIC gaining hands-on experience and hearing directly from industry professionals.

As part of this program, you will earn three industry certifications in areas such as Property and Liability, Personal insurance, and Commercial Insurance. In addition, upon successful completion of this program, you can earn up to nine direct college credits with Olivet College.

Program Summary
  • Students in 11th and 12th grades will work with industry professionals to gain insight into the details of personal and commercial insurance and finance
  • Students will have opportunity to visit local insurance companies, participate in a student organization and travel to compete at state and national competitions
  • Students will have a head start on college by earning direct college credit through Olivet College
  • Students earn a national insurance certification from the Insurance institutes of America
  • Students receive elective credit, fourth year math related credit and world language exchange credit

By completing the Risk Management Insurance Certification Program, students will receive 9 FREE college credits from Olivet College, transferable to any college.

1st semester - Investments
2nd semester - Insurance Principles
Year 2
1st semester - Personal Insurance

Paid Summer Internships
the Program instructor will assist students with possible summer internships.

Requirements:
A completed application form
Entering 11th or 12th grade
Minimum GPA of 2.75
Pre-requisite of Business Administration or equivalent
