As our students progress through the Avondale School District, we want to continue to ensure they are properly educated and prepared in all areas of their lives. Sexual health lessons and learning opportunities provide students with medically accurate information and communication skills to help them make decisions that can keep them healthy and safe. Since Avondale School District offers sex education, the Michigan Department of Education requires us to form a sex education advisory board composed of a variety of stakeholders. Therefore, the Avondale School District will convene the Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB). The meetings are open to the public. ALL students, staff members, parents, guardians and community members are invited to attend all meetings. The voting members of the SEAB consist of parents, health professionals, clergy, teachers and administrators.
